icecream.jpg

Continuing my look at people from my neighbourhood is this fellow who mans the ice-cream truck just outside Honest Ed’s.  On a warm day he’s guaranteed to be there squeezing soft-serve ice cream into cones for all the locals while he listens to the ballgame on the radio.  (But don’t worry, he exits the truck for his smoke breaks)

(P.S. Matt Forsythe is also drawing the people in his neighbourhood.)

He’s only sad because he is taking a smoke break and is wasting valuable ice cream serving time succumbing to his horrible habit.

I love that guy! If you stop to talk to him, you’ll see that he’s a fantastic guy. Every time I get an ice cream from him he is always very friendly.

How close are you to Honest Ed’s? I work like three doors south on Bathurst! Maybe you could draw me sometime, reading a book on my lunch break at The Butler’s Pantry on Markham St., or renting DVDs at Queen Video.

He makes one hell of a good cherry slushie.  The kind that burns the back of your throat and turns your tongue bright red for a week.
