The other day at the Beguiling I saw that Dave Cooper has a new book out! It’s a sequel to Overbite: Drawings and Paintings of Mostly Pillowy Girls cleverly entitled Underbelly: Additional Observations on the Beauty/Ugliness of Mostly Pillowy Girls
It’s the perfect book if your idea of beauty is at once both Rubenesque and a little ghoulish.
Al aka El Negro Magnifico says:
I love Cooper’s work. I picked up Overbite a couple of Boxing Days ago, and I still find myself flipping through it. I love the way he depicts big women. They’re confident.

hmm, scary yet compelling stuff.

Hey, I don’t always just want to post comments about the bookstore I work at, but I did just want to say that Pages has this book too and that we’ve just got the Complete Cartoons of the New Yorker BACK into stock.
I also wanted to mention a book called Barefoot Serpent that I thought you might want to check out. It is a really cute graphic novel which is part biography of Kurosawa and part family drama… The drawings are pretty awesome. Oh and we have the Lowbright guy’s book back in…
Ok, enough already… ; )
